Captain Bernard Stein, long time resident of Ogunquit, Maine passed away peacefully on April 16 in Sarasota, Florida. He received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at CCNY and an associate degree in business at the University of New Hampshire. Along with his love of fishing, he was an entrepreneur, earning twelve US patents for designing and inventing hospital health care equipment and quality control software. He designed his family’s beautiful home and Shore Road Gallery in Ogunquit, which he ran with his wife Elaine for over 40 years. He leaves behind three children and their spouses, Tobie and Richard, David and Madonna, Pamela and Martin, as well as three grandchildren, Michelle, Minnah, and Jacob. Contributions may be made in memory of Bernard and Elaine Stein to the Ogunquit Art Museum.
