Tom was born in Portland, Maine on July 23, 1975. He attended the live-in program for firefighting in Scarborough, Maine while in high school. He graduated from Deering High School in 1994. He attended Southern Maine Community College following high school and later in life received his associate's degree in accounting at Andover College in South Portland, Maine. He continued his firefighting career in East Rochester, New York in 2012 and quickly worked his way up to being Captain. He was one of the head advisors for the Explorer Post of the East Rochester Fire Department for 6 years. He retired from the department as Captain in 2022. Along with firefighting, his work tenure included being General Manager for 26 years and a Property Manager for 10 years.
Tom was a very loving, caring, easy going and hard working husband, father, brother, uncle and dear friend who's passing leaves a giant hole in the lives of many. His passion was firefighting for 30+ years, watching his favorite sports teams (Red Sox and Patriots), listening to his favorite rock bands like Pink Floyd, and simply hanging out with friends and family around a nice campfire. He was always on the hunt for that winning lotto ticket. His sense of humor, enthusiasm, and integrity will be missed dearly by all his family, friends and colleagues and his legacy will forever live on.
