Margaret "Peggy"  (O'Donnell) O'Brien, 82, of Old Orchard Beach, formerly of South Portland, died, January 18, 2017, at Seal Rock Health Center in Saco.

Peggy was born at home in Portland, May 27, 1934, a daughter of William Henry and Lucille Christine LaBelle O'Brien.  She was educated in Portland Parochial Schools.  Graduated as Valedictorian of her class at the former, Cathedral High School  in Portland.

On July 17, 1965, she married, Richard  Joseph "Joe" Obrien.  Following their marriage they moved from South Portland to Old Orchard Beach.

During most of her adult working years she was employed as an Office Manager by the Royal Typewriter Company in Portland.

Margaret was a parishioner and communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Old Orchard Beach.  She was a member of the former Cathedral High School Alumnae Association.

As a young  women, she enjoyed playing the piano.  She was a devoted wife and homemaker.  Other enjoyments were baking and shopping at Goodwill Stores with her sisters.

Predeceasing her besides her parents were 2 sisters, Catherine O'Donnell and Mildred O'Donnell Burke.

Survivors include her husband, of Old Orchard Beach; a sister, Helen Kalesnick, South Portland; a sister in law, Gertrude E. Danis, and her husband Rudy, of Saco; several nieces and nephews; grand nephews and  grandnieces.

A visitation period will be held prior to a Funeral  Service at 10:00 AM,  Monday, January 23, 2017, at the OLD ORCHARD BEACH  FUNERAL HOME, 36 Portland Avenue, Old Orchard Beach.

Interment will be in the family lot in St .Mary's Cemetery in Biddeford.
