MANUEL  D. 'SKIP' SILVA, 70, of Old Orchard Beach,  formerly of Portland,  died at his home on Heath St, Saturday, January 7, 2017.  He formerly resided on West Grand Avenue for many years.

He was born in Portland, March 27, 1946. He was educated in Portland schools.

For many years he was employed at Merrill's Wharf in Portland as a painter.  He also was an artist.

His enjoyments were the beach, gardening , and collecting baseball cards.

Skip was a Disabled Veteran of the Vietnam era.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.  A Graveside Service at the Southern Maine Veterans' Cemetery on Stanley Road in Springvale, with Military Honors, will be held in May, 2017, with the time and date to be announced.
