Maarit H. Kalliopuska, 66, of Old Orchard Beach, died October 17, 2016, at Southern Maine Health Care Facility in Biddeford.

Maarit was born December 28, 1949 in Finland.

For most of her adult life in the United States,  she was employed as a Medical Secretary.

She was a very active member of the The Animal Watch Group in Old Orchard Beach.  Her passion with animals was the Feline Species.

There are no known survivors except her dearest friends, Martin "Marty" and Jackie Jarmel of Old Orchard Beach and Florida; Beverly Russell  of Old Orchard Beach.

There is no visitation.  Graveside Services were held, Thursday, October 26, 2016 in Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland.
