Catherine was born in Subic Bay, Philippines at the U.S Naval Station Hospital on June 22,1967, daughter to Veronica (Durban) and Alvin "Gene" Anderson. She graduated from Marion County High School of Illinois in 1985. Catherine went on to join the U.S. Navy where she served as a Chaplin's assistant for 4 years. Following her discharge and the birth of her children, she graduated from Andover College as a medical transcriptionist. Later, she returned to Kaplan University to certify in medical billing and coding. Catherine had a strong work ethic, often holding multiple jobs to support her family. She worked various jobs including factories, shops, restaurants, department stores and medical offices. She loved the time she had with her nieces and nephew nannying for many years. She returned to the medical field as a receptionist to eventually become office manager. Catherine continued pouring herself wholeheartedly into each job she had thereafter. She loved cooking for the whole neighborhood and sharing meals together. She had an ardent love for her bowling leagues, where she enjoyed the opportunity to travel and meet many wonderful people. With a heart of gold, she would do all that she could for anyone who crossed her path. Above all else, she was a devoted mother. She cherished having all her kids together and she loved listening to her grandchildren's laughter. She will be missed beyond measure. May she be remembered as the loving, warm, humble and kind to the core woman that she was.
